About the initiator
Bram van der Boom is a psychiatrist and is known as an expert in the field of online (group) therapy and online psychiatry. He has many years of experience in the Netherlands and abroad with online psychiatry, online (learning / schema) therapy, online group therapy and personality disorders. He is co-founder of the first Dutch fully online specialized mental healthcare provider, www.solutalks.nl.
Van der Boom is a popular speaker at congresses and conferences such as for the American Group Therapy Association (AGPA), the Dutch Association for Psychiatrists (NVvP) and the Dutch Association for Group Therapists (NVGP). Since mid-March 2020, he and Ehealth specialists have trained more than 16,000 care providers through webinars on online treatment.
He has taught at various universities such as the VU University (Amsterdam), the Leiden University Medical Center and the University of Twente, and at large healthcare organizations such as GGNet, Trubendorffer, Mediant and Tactus Addiction Care.
He is currently obtaining his doctorate on the subject of online group therapy at the VU University under Prof. dr. Dr. H. Riper and Prof. Dr. A. Arntz.
